Dressed in Plastic: How to Stop the Synthetics Clothing Epidemic

More than 60% of what we wear today is synthetic clothing. Sam Fisher tells us why plastics are pervasive, why it matters, and what we can do.
Meg’s work and studies merge apparel and product design with sustainable (and profitable) business development. She’s from Sydney, Australia but currently lives in NYC, where she’s doing a Master of Science in Sustainable Fashion at GCNYC. Her area of focus is on bioplastics in woven and non-woven (like felt) textiles to replace plastic-based synthetics. After working with designers to develop their collections, Meg’s ultimate goal is to develop fabrics that perform like polyester but are made from degradable bio-polymers. 🌱
